Quantity Surveyor - Heavy Earthworks Civil project

A leading civil engineering firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, specializing in complex and challenging heavy highway projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute your expertise to impactful infrastructure projects and make a real difference in the industry.

About the Role:

As Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in the financial management and success of our heavy highway projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing accurate and detailed cost estimates and budgets for projects, ensuring feasibility and alignment with project goals.
  • Administering and managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Overseeing procurement processes, including tendering, evaluating bids, and awarding contracts.
  • Monitoring actual project costs against the approved budget, identifying and analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Evaluating and valuing variations and claims arising from project changes or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Preparing and negotiating claims against contractors and subcontractors for additional costs incurred.
  • Analyzing and responding to claims submitted by contractors, ensuring fairness and compliance with contract terms.
  • Potentially lodging claims on behalf of the company if necessary.
  • Providing regular reports on cost performance to project managers and stakeholders.


Ideal Candidate Profile:
