Temporary Contracts Manager - Peckham

Location: Peckham & London Bridge

On-site Requirement: 2-3 days/week in Peckham, plus occasional visits to London Bridge

Assignment Overview
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee day-to-day operations in Peckham during a 20-week period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Leadership: Manage and support a team of Trades Supervisors, ensuring adherence to daily operational disciplines, including:
    • Health & Safety inspections
    • Timely financial job completions
    • Processing Variation Orders (VOs) via the portal
    • Embedding key processes (e.g., follow-ons, no-access)
    • Absence management
    • Van and ladder inspections
    • Supplier and material management
  • Complaint Management: Investigate and resolve Stage 1 complaints, ensuring all complaint-related commitments are delivered promptly.
  • Health & Safety Oversight: Investigate and escalate Health & Safety issues where appropriate, ensuring serious incidents are reported in accordance with policy.
  • Performance Management: Drive Work in Progress (WIP) performance and effective job management, promoting accurate and timely job recording by Trades.
  • Contractor Management: Reinforce understanding and application of contractor management principles, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.


Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience managing Trades Supervisors within a housing/property services environment.
  • Strong contract management skills and operational understanding.
  • Excellent customer service and complaint resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and flexibly across multiple sites.
  • Valid UK driving licence - a van may be provided (to be confirmed).
  • Immediate availability or short notice period (maximum 1 week).
  • Gaps in employment history must be explained.
