About the Role:
As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be the duty holder responsible for the electrical infrastructure (up to 11KV) across two major sites. Youll lead maintenance and upgrade strategies, ensure statutory compliance, and support site reliability through expert guidance, training, and hands-on fault diagnosis.
Youll also manage infrastructure projects up to £1M, mentor electrical engineers toward Senior Authorised Person status, and ensure operational readiness for both current systems and future investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as Duty Holder for electrical systems up to 11KV across two refinery sites.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.
  • Develop and audit maintenance strategies using FMEA, RCA, and best practice methodologies.
  • Oversee MV equipment such as transformers, turbines, and switchgear.
  • Provide fault diagnosis support, including for power generation systems.
  • Conduct gap analysis and advise on long-term capital investment in electrical systems.
  • Manage electrical projects from concept to commissioning, within scope and budget.
  • Deliver training and assess competency for engineers working with LV/MV systems.
  • Support the development and scheduling of achievable maintenance plans.


What Youll Bring:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems up to 11KV, including power generation.
  • Proficiency in PLCs, VFDs, and automation for fault diagnosis.
  • Proven leadership experience managing or supervising skilled electrical personnel.
  • Experience in developing and implementing maintenance and reliability strategies.
  • Ability to train and assess electrical staff on switching, permit issuing, and operational procedures.
