Our Client is seeking a skilled Second Chef to join a friendly school catering team, supporting the delivery of fresh, nutritious meals to students every day.
As Second Chef, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the school kitchen. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help plan and prepare high-quality meals, maintain excellent food safety standards, and create a welcoming dining experience for pupils and staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning, preparing, and serving healthy, balanced meals
Support the Head Chef in menu development
Ensure compliance with all food hygiene, allergen, and safety regulations
Help manage stock, deliveries, and kitchen organisation
Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment
Step up to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
Experience in a professional kitchen (ideally educational catering, but not essential)
A passion for nutritious, child-friendly food
Understanding of dietary needs and allergens
Level 2 Food Hygiene (Level 3 desirable)
Able to work efficiently, calmly, and as part of a team
Reliable, organised, and enthusiastic
Up to £33,000 salary (term-time only)
