We're looking for a committed and proactive Education Inclusion Officer to join the Family Early Help Service-a specialist team working at the heart of our community to deliver on the Council's Fairer Future promises.

What You'll Be Doing
As an Education Inclusion Officer, you'll be the driving force behind ensuring all children of compulsory school age access full-time education and are supported to remain engaged in learning. You will:

  • Work in partnership with parents, schools, and young people to tackle persistent absence and prevent school exclusions

  • Promote positive behaviour, educational achievement, and constructive activities to keep children in school

  • Lead and support managed moves, multi-agency plans, and early interventions to avoid exclusions

  • Carry out attendance investigations and provide expert consultation to schools and professionals

  • Enforce parental responsibility measures when necessary, including legal planning meetings, interviews under caution, and presenting cases at magistrates and family court

  • Actively contribute to tracking and re-engaging Children Missing Education (CME) to ensure every child is back in learning quickly

  • Provide strategic oversight and consultation to colleagues across Family Early Help, ensuring that thresholds for legal intervention are correctly identified and actioned
