We’re supporting a respected organisation in their search for an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor. This role offers the chance to provide broad commercial support across a varied portfolio of residential and commercial projects, while also contributing expertise to more complex commercial matters when required.
The Role:
You will work across the full spectrum of commercial duties, including cost management, contract administration, reporting, and supporting project teams with day-to-day commercial delivery. Additionally, you will assist with loss and expense claims, particularly where cases require detailed analysis and structured commercial reasoning.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage core QS duties across residential and commercial projects

Support cost planning, forecasting, and commercial reporting

Review contract terms and ensure compliance with project requirements

Work with operational teams to gather and validate project data

Contribute to the preparation of loss and expense claims, including complex elements when needed

Assist in maintaining strong commercial governance and risk management
What We’re Looking For:

Solid experience as a Quantity Surveyor across residential and/or commercial project delivery

Exposure to loss and expense work, with the ability to handle more complex aspects where required

Strong understanding of standard forms of contract (NEC/JCT desirable)

Confident communicator with strong analytical and written skills

Able to work independently in a freelance capacity
