Our Client based in Kettering are looking for a financialcontrollerto join their team.
As asenior accounting controlleryou willresponsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance, and providing financial advice to management.The role will be in ensuring accurate record keeping and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.The role will include budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, contributing to the overall financial health of the company and will be reporting directly to the CFO. This position is a great opportunity for someone ambitious who enjoys working for a dynamic and diverse business within a role that could develop into the position of Financial Director in the near future. The role may require at times travel to Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements for the group and year end results.
- Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to accounting standards
- Internal Controls:
Overseeing and developing robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial records. Checking costings to ensure correct invoicing. Reconcile bank statements
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
Managing the preparation and analysis of budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
Analysing financial data, identifying trends and variances, and providing insights to improve performance and prepare monthly cash flow reports.
- Working with External Auditors:
Providing support and documentation to external auditors during audits.
- Tax Compliance:
Overseeing tax preparation or liaising with external tax accountants to ensure tax obligations are met.
- Communication and Collaboration:
Communicating financial information to management, the CFO and the group CFO.
- Strategic Contribution:
Contributing to the development of financial strategy and policies.
Typical Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and qualifications:A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Industry NVQ
- Experience:Relevant work experience of min 5 years in accounting, financial analysis, or similar roles.
- Technical Skills:Strong proficiency in accounting software Sage, spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel), and financial reporting tools.
- Analytical Skills:Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Communication Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
- Leadership Skills:Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills to manage a team.
- Language Skills. A knowledge of French would be a positive point but compulsory
