PM SHIFT - 2.00PM TO 10PM - MONDAY TO FRIDAY

Following a period of incredible growth my client, a supplier of consumables to the retail industry, now has an excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager to join their team at a new purpose-built site in Burton Latimer, covering the PM shift.

Role Purpose:

You will support in the site/departmental formulation and execution to deliver performance improvement for the benefit of the business, customers and teams. As a member of the Operational Management Team at Burton Latimer, you will role model behaviours, drive culture and employee engagement by creating a high performing team.

You will be accountable for; the day to day activities of the PM shift on site at Burton Latimer, covering all outbound activities, and the operational accountability of PM shift.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the PM Operations Team at Burton Latimer
  • Deliver against all critical customer OTIF metrics
  • Ensure that the PM shift at Burton Latimer site runs safely and effectively (service & cost)
  • Recruit, train, and retain staff of the required number and calibre on the PM shift.
  • Ensure all people management activities (121’s, Team Meetings, Performance Reviews, RTW, Right to Work, PI Forms, Leave Requests, expenses, annual reviews inc. SMART objectives) are appropriately actioned on PM shift.
  • Role model the Values & Behaviours and through 'story-telling’ connect with the purpose, vision & mission in team and inter-team interactions.
  • Ensure all Line Managers within your function, discharge their responsibilities to lead, motivate, support, train & develop a high functioning team.
  • Line management of direct reports
  • Collaboration with other shift and departments.
  • Create environment of continuous improvement & learning on PM shift
  • Reduce number of accidents through increased H&S initiatives & improved behaviours
  • Contingency cover and succession planning for key roles to ensure clear progression pipeline and business continuity on PM’s
  • Ensure compliance to process in line with process & company handbook

Skills & Experience required:

  • Has managed, developed and coached teams medium size teams
  • Previous experience of working in a Retail or FMCG supply chain environment
  • Has demonstrated leadership qualities & collaboration across functions
  • Understands the impact of strong employee engagement and business culture
  • Actively champions and role models the company values and behaviours
  • Is highly organised & has effective time management skills & work ethic.
  • Capacity to take in information & facts.
  • Strong communication skills including equally strong listening skills
  • Is able to conduct difficult conversations with employees when required, and remain resilient and calm under pressure.
  • Is able to delegate and values the input and opinions of team and colleagues
  • Strong IT/Analytical skills
  • High degree of flexibility - last minute changes to working hours, days as required to meet the expectations & commitments of the role.
  • Numerate, bright, enthusiastic, self-sufficient, self-starter, confident, analytical, and inquisitive.
