We're proud to partner with a remarkable local charity in their search for a Temporary Finance Manager to join their team. This critical role will take the lead on key accounting tasks, providing vital financial oversight in support of the charity’s global mission.
Reporting into the CEO, this assignment requires a qualified and experienced Finance Professional, with proven exposure managing and developing finance teams in the charity sector.
Please note, this is a temporary position paid on a weekly PAYE basis. This role will start quickly, so sadly candidates with a lengthy notice period cannot be considered.
Temporary Finance Manager Responsibilities
This position will involve, but will not be limited to:
- Management and oversight of project budgets
- Line management and coaching of finance team
- Offering insights to the SMT and trustees, including mitigation of risk
- Oversight and management of core financial tasks, including cash management and payroll
- Reporting; preparing financial statements and management accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting, to include variance analysis
- Management of year end and annual audit
- Internal controls and compliance
- Governance, to including CoSec duties

Temporary Finance Manager Essentials
- Qualified accounting professional (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA), with a strong track record in financial management within the charity/not-for-profit sector
- Confident leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and develop finance teams
- Expert understanding of day-to-day financial operations, including transactional finance, payroll, VAT, and the production of management accounts, financial KPIs, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Proficient IT skills, particularly in finance systems and Excel for reporting and analysis
- Proven ability to mitigate risk and provide insightful advice to the C-suite
Location
Based in Kidlington, this is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. There is parking on site.
