About the Role

Veolia is looking for a hands-on Working Supervisor to lead the waste management and cleaning operations at Siemens Magnet Technology in Oxford. You'll manage two teams and ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations in a busy factory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Supervision

  • Lead and support facilities and cleaning staff

  • Plan rotas, assign tasks, and run regular team meetings

  • Provide training and foster a positive team environment

Operations

  • Oversee waste collection, sorting, baling, and disposal

  • Supervise cleaning activities, including audits and deep cleans

  • Safely operate equipment like forklifts, balers, and scrubbers

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all work follows health, safety, and environmental policies

  • Conduct safety checks and maintain records

  • Report and manage hazards or equipment defects

Resource & Stock Management

  • Manage supplies and equipment use efficiently

  • Order and track cleaning stock levels

Stakeholder Communication

  • Work closely with internal teams and external contractors

  • Support site operations and respond to ad-hoc needs

Requirements

Essential:

  • Experience in waste or facilities management

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence

  • GCSEs in English and Maths

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and flexibility

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing environment experience

  • IT skills

  • Knowledge of waste regulations (training provided)
