Procurement Officer

Permanent | 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid Working Available

An opportunity has become available for an experienced and proactive Procurement Officer to join a growing procurement team within a specialist public sector organisation. The role offers a chance to contribute to vital services in a highly regulated and purpose-driven environment.

The postholder will be responsible for managing procurement activities from initiation to contract award, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and delivering value for money. You'll support a variety of stakeholders and help shape procurement policy and practice across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage procurement exercises across a range of categories

  • Develop tender documentation, manage evaluations, and lead contract awards

  • Provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders on procurement planning

  • Review and update commercial terms, contract templates, and procurement policies

  • Ensure procurement activity aligns with public sector legal requirements

  • Monitor supplier performance and manage procurement risk

Essential Criteria:
  • Strong track record in public sector procurement, including use of frameworks

  • Fully qualified MCIPS (Level 6) - please confirm this in your application

  • Familiarity with relevant procurement legislation and governance frameworks

  • Skilled in managing complex tenders and building supplier relationships

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
