Our client, a leading third sector organisation based in Kings Hill, are looking for aData Protection Managerto play a pivotal role, serving as SME on data protection and privacy, embedding privacy into daily operations, and managing data protection risks across the group.

As the Data Protection Manager your primary focus will be supporting the Operations function within 1LOD, leading the integration of data protection principles into operational processes, ensuring compliance with UK GDPR and related legislation. You will also collaborate with 2LOD teams across the Group, including Risk Compliance and the DPO, helping to ensure practices remain robust, forward-thinking, and compliant.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and mitigating data protection risks
  • Maintaining Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs), and supporting incident response and reporting
  • Advising on privacy matters
  • Conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
  • Developing training materials
  • Supporting the business on the implementation of AI, and input into the creation and governance of AI Policy
  • Promoting a culture of privacy awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation

The successful Data Protection Manager will have:

  • Data Protection experience within a regulated environment
  • Experience in First Line of Defence (1LOD) or operational risk
  • Exposure to financial services, charity, or not-for-profit sectors
  • Strong understanding of UK GDPR, DPA 2018, and international data transfer mechanisms
  • Professional certification, CIPP/E, CIPM, BCS, is desirable
