This role sits within a days-based Engineering team, supporting both day-to-day maintenance and larger shutdown projects. Youll play a key part in keeping complex systems ticking, while also spotting ways to improve reliability, efficiency, and safety.


A big part of the job is managing external contractors, so strong communication and a cool head under pressure are a must. Youll need to balance reactive needs with long-term improvements- and keep safety front and centre while doing it.

What youll bring:

  • A solid background in Mechanical Engineering (Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent)

  • Real-world experience in both preventative and corrective maintenance

  • Familiarity with mechanical systems like pumps, drives, conveyors, and rotating machinery

  • Knowledge of industrial gases

  • Confidence in safety systems- pressure equipment, hot works, confined space, you name it

  • A proactive mindset and a head for continuous improvement

  • Project experience- from concept through to completion

  • A team-first attitude, but capable of owning your own area too


What youll be doing:

  • Planning and managing shutdowns, weekly maintenance schedules and resources

  • Leading fault diagnosis and acting as the go-to technical expert

  • Managing external contractors and ensuring safe systems of work

  • Supporting shift teams, reporting into senior production leadership

  • Driving CAPEX projects and contributing to long-term site improvement strategies
