Engineering Operations Manager

Location Knutsford Cheshire  ( local candidates apply only)

Salary 42k to 46k

Monday to Friday plus pension

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Operations Manager to coordinate all aspects of Mechanical yard operations. This role is a balance of team leadership, yard management, administration, and practical mechanical engineering. You will ensure efficient throughput of agriculture machinery, manage a small team, and maintain a safe and organised working environment.

Management:

  • Assist and Supervise yard technician(s) – mechanical engineering knowledge essential
  • Offer training for mechanics team
  • Implement Engineering documents, Efficient systems and Processes for throughput and workflow

Operational Duties:

  • Coordinate preparation of machines for despatch
  • Assist with Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) as needed
  • Identify and escalate significant PDI or product quality issues, in the form of documentation to design/manufacturing, accelerating workflow
  • Prepare machinery for events, demonstrations, unloading/loading, ensuring logistics are conducted in expected manor
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment to high standards

Administration:

  • Produce Goods-In reports and manage associated documentation
  • Process internal sales orders and liaise with the sales team
  • Raise and manage despatch paperwork
  • Communicate with Sales Managers regarding lead times and delivery dates
  • Liaise with hauliers, schedule collections, and approve haulage invoices
  • Maintain and update Health & Safety procedures and records

Candidate Profile: Required

  • Mechanical engineering experience
  • Strong organisational and leadership capabilities
  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Office applications
  • Friendly, professional, and solutions-focused attitude
  • Willing to support other departments (e.g., answering phones if needed)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £42,000.00-£46,690.49 per year
