Senior Purchasing Manager

Senior Purchasing Manager – Engineering | Knutsford | On Site

We’re looking for a Senior Purchasing Manager to take ownership of our global procurement strategy and help drive profitable growth in our engineering business.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll shape the supply chain, lead negotiations, and deliver results. A big part of your focus will be on developing and strengthening our Chinese supplier network – so experience in this area is essential. If you also speak Mandarin, that’s a big advantage.

What you’ll be doing

• Leading our procurement function, driving commercial and operational performance.
• Building, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships – with a focus on China.
• Sourcing and purchasing exotic materials (e.g. Inconel and other specialist alloys).
• Working strategically to deliver cost savings, resilience, and competitive advantage.
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings to ensure supplier alignment.

What we’re looking for

• A strong commercial leader with experience building supply chains in China.
• Mechanical engineering background (you must be able to read technical drawings).
• Proven success negotiating and buying exotic materials.
• Excellent leadership and relationship-building skills.
• Mandarin language skills – highly desirable.
