BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Planning Engineer to join our team within FalconWorks - the cutting-edge development arm for advanced aircraft programmes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to play a pivotal role in developing and delivering innovative manufacturing solutions.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Planning Engineer, you will be at the forefront of translating complex aircraft design data into effective and efficient manufacturing processes, ensuring electrical systems are built and installed to the highest standards.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Translating CAD models, BOMs, circuit drawings, and material/process specifications into actionable Manufacturing Engineering processes.
Developing and maintaining Loom Assembly, End Make-off, and Installation planning.
Producing detailed manufacturing build instructions using SAPCAMS or equivalent planning tools.
Supporting production for electrical looms, components, racks, panels, and assemblies.
Ensuring alignment with original design intent while driving improvements to efficiency and quality.
Key Skills & Experience:
HNC qualification or completion of a relevant Craft/Technician Apprenticeship.
Strong hands-on experience in Electrical Manufacturing Engineering within aerospace or similar sectors.
Proven expertise in Electrical Loom Assembly and installation processes.
Ability to interpret complex electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical standards.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and planning tools like SAPCAMS.
A proactive mindset with a strong drive to improve processes and working practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
