Embedded Hardware Engineer

We are seeking an Embedded Hardware Engineer to design and develop innovative hardware systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in microcontroller and electronic circuit design.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Hardware Design & Development:
- Work with the product team to define design requirements.
- Develop schematics and PCB layouts for embedded systems that meet set requirements.
- Select appropriate components and ensure design compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with Software and R&D teams, potentially requiring flexible working hours due to international collaboration.
- Prototyping & Testing:
- Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and requirements.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and validation of hardware performance.
- Manage compliance testing with appropriate external resources.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Integrate design with other solutions and back-ends by working closely with hardware/firmware and software engineers.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance teams to ensure robust production designs.
- Support the manufacturing process with test rigs and required test modes.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare detailed documentation including design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory and safety standards (UKCA, CE, etc.).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in hardware design projects, creating circuit applications, PCBs, and products.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field; relevant industry experience also considered.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD).
- Solid understanding of microcontrollers, digital/analog circuit design, and signal integrity.
- Experience with simulation and testing tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
