Senior Buyer

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Lancashire based client to recruit for a Senior Buyer.

Main Duties:

• Lead the procurement of goods and materials to ensure sufficient stock holding is maintained
• Manage new and existing supplier relationships
• Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing
• Identify, quantify and onboarding of new suppliers
• Work closely with internal teams to turn demand plans into purchasing priorities
• Manage the end-to-end process of purchasing
• Manage develop and mentor a small team

Experience and Skills required:

• Previous experience of at least Senior Buyer/Category Manager level
• Commercially astute and aware
• Previous experience mentoring a team
• Good IT, literacy, and numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
