We are currently seeking a dynamic Geography Teacher to join a school in South Cumbria immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons that adhere to the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum. Experience with KS5 would be advantageous.
  • Utilise strong classroom management skills to create a positive, conducive learning environment.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on the progress of students.
  • Implement strategies to cater to a range of educational needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons.
  • Participate in school events and activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4; KS5 is advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust subject knowledge.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
