Reed Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive team in LancasterĀ on a long-term basis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in a Learning Support role, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment for students with special educational needs (SEN).Ā
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide learning and care support for pupils with SEN, working closely with the teacher to plan and deliver activities.
- Support pupils with routines, transitions, and behaviour management to ensure a conducive learning environment.
- Act as a good role model for students by demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
- Engage with students to promote interaction and inclusive educational practices.
- One to one and small group work.
- Recent relevant experience working within a classroom environment.
- Excellent classroom practitioner with robust classroom management skills.
- Reliable, committed, and interested in working with students.
- Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
- Must be trustworthy and able to uphold the qualities of a good role model.
