Overview

Join a marketing leading water hygiene specialist that values integrity, collaboration, and putting people first. We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Water Hygiene Technician to assist our clients in the Chorley area. This remote role offers the flexibility to work independently while being supported by a highly collaborative team.



Responsibilities

As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will:

  • Travel to customer sites in the Chorley area to ensure water systems meet compliance standards.
  • Inspect, clean, and handle water storage vessels, including overseeing tank chlorination processes.
  • Install and maintain Thermostatic Mixing Valves.
  • Perform routine compliance checks following HSG 274 Part 2, including:
    • Flushing water outlets.
    • Monitoring and recording water temperatures.
    • Descaling showerheads and performing necessary flushing of pressure vessels.
    • Closed water system sampling.
  • Use the SimPRO system to manage and streamline your workload effectively.
  • Proactively identify and address potential risks or non-compliance issues, ensuring alignment with HSE's ACoP L8 and HSG274 guidelines.


Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • City & Guilds Legionella Awareness Training or comparable industry experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of HSE's ACoP L8 and HSG274 standards.


Day-To-Day

In a typical day, you will:

  • Travel to various sites in the Chorley region to oversee water hygiene compliance tasks.
  • Execute crucial hygiene operations to safeguard water systems.
  • Effectively manage tasks and schedules using the SimPRO system.
