Production Operative (Nights) – Temporary to Potential Long-Term Role

We are looking for dedicated and hardworking individuals to join a busy manufacturing site on the night shift. While previous production or manufacturing experience is preferred, full training will be provided for the right candidate. Location: Launceston, Cornwall (PL15)

Position Type: Full-time, Temp, With potential for extension.

Start Date: ASAP (following successful interview and onboarding checks)

Shifts Available:

Weekday Nights: 10:00pm – 6:00am (Monday to Thursday) and 4:00pm – 9:00pm (Friday)

Weekend Nights: 9:00pm – 6:00am (Friday to Saturday) and 6:00pm – 6:00am (Sunday)

Applicants must be available to work the full night shift pattern as required.

Pay Rates:

Weekends (up to 37.5 hours): £16.41 per hour

Overtime (after 8 hours per day & Saturdays): £24.62 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manufacturing and production machinery safely, following all operating guidelines and Standard Safe Operating Procedures (SSOW).
  • Carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure it runs efficiently.
  • Follow production plans to meet targets while maintaining product quality.
  • Keep accurate records of production output, issues, and downtime as required.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure a smooth production process.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area in accordance with workplace standards.
  • Comply at all times with UK Health & Safety legislation and site-specific safety protocols.

Essential Requirements:

  • Valid driving licence and access to reliable transport.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and SSOW procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive approach to tasks.

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience operating industrial machinery or similar equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to work additional shifts if required.
