DS Smith Packaging is looking for a Production Operative to join our team in Launceston. This is a great opportunity for someone with existing production experience, though we will provide full training to the right candidate.
This is a full-time, 3-month contract role with the potential for extension. We need someone who can start as soon as possible, following a successful interview and onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain machinery and equipment in our manufacturing facility.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with our Safe Standard Operating Procedures (SSOW) and UK Health and Safety legislation.
- Perform routine safety checks and basic maintenance on machinery.
Shifts & Pay:
- Weekday Nights: Monday to Thursday (10 PM - 6 AM) and Friday (4 PM - 9 PM)
- Weekend Nights: Friday to Saturday (9 PM - 6 AM) and Sunday (6 PM - 6 AM)
- Pay: £16.41 per hour for weekends (up to 37.5 hours), with an overtime rate of £24.62 per hour after 8 hours per day and on Saturdays.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation and SSOW.
- A valid driving licence and access to a car are essential due to the location and shift times.
