The role:

To lead a variety of medium to high complexity projects including tenders and contract management activities as well leading or supporting the development and execution of category and sourcing strategies. Fully own category sub-strategies and strategic relationships within the business.

Responsibilities:

Lead, develop and implement effective sourcing strategies ensuring goods / services are procured in a best-in-class manner that drives value for money

Lead and develop medium to high complex regulated compliant Supply Chain events;

Develop an expert knowledge of your supplier marketplace within assigned categories to ensure credibility with internal stakeholders;

Analyse supply base and vendor spend to make informed sourcing decisions.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with various internal stakeholders as well as establishing strong relationships and educating stakeholders on process and best practice

Create or develop complex financial and analytical models for strategic recommendations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and specifications.

Lead and support your junior members, striving to help them achieve their full potential as well as supporting their development needs;

Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, direction and support to junior members of the team

Lead in the upskilling and training of new starters and existing members of the team as well as leading onboarding and induction related activities.

Lead contract management activities identifying continuous improvement opportunities through engagement with suppliers and stakeholders and driving efficiencies and benefits for contracts;

Requirements:

Experience and an excellent track record as a strategic sourcing or Supply Chain professional including a track record of continuous improvement and delivery of results in a variety of commercial settings

Good understanding and experience of key practices in Supply Chain / strategic sourcing (e.g. category spend analysis, sourcing processes and supplier management)

Demonstrates good level of knowledge, specifically in reference to the categories of spend under management and what compliance and regulatory requirements need to be fulfilled.

Demonstrates relevant category expertise and / or evidences transferrable skills across category areas

Experience in personally conducting Supply Chain activities, including requirement definition, sourcing planning, supplier management and competitive bidding, in line with the agreed strategy for the relevant categories of spend
