The Project
As an experienced Intermediate Building Surveyor, you will handle a broad range of responsibilities across various projects including fire and flood reinstatement, structural defect evaluations, insurance assessments, and commercial refurbishment initiatives within multiple diverse sectors. Your role will be crucial in supporting and assisting the project team, ensuring smooth and successful project outcomes.
Requirements
It is essential that you hold the experience below;
- A solid background in the construction industry with at least 2-3 years of experience with a successful track-record of building surveying across a range of sectors
- Relevant degree in Building Surveying

- A clear insight of construction laws and regulations
- Comprehensive knowledge of local building codes, planning regulations, and health & safety standards

The Role
- Job Title: Intermediate Building Surveyor

- Location: Guildford, West Surrey
- Reporting to: Associate Building Surveyor
Duties
- Diagnose defects and provide solutions and expert technical advice
- Remain current with industry legislation, guidelines, and evolving best practices
- Deliver comprehensive building surveying services across various industry sectors
- Employ analytical thinking to solve technical problems and produce accurate reports
- Contribute to the successful delivery of projects from initial concept to final handover
- Provide support to senior surveyors while helping ensuring successful team outcomes
- Engage in dilapidations tasks, overseeing negotiations with both landlords and tenants
- Execute measured surveys and develop CAD drawings or specifications as appropriate
- Perform condition surveys to highlight defects and suggest appropriate maintenance actions
- Perform inspections, including defect identification and condition surveys, with accompanying reports
- Maintain compliance with applicable building regulations, planning legislation, and health and safety protocols
- Contribute to the team's success by aiding senior surveyors and offering mentorship to junior staff as required
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and consultants, giving technical recommendations and building positive working relationships
- Support the preparation of tender documents, work schedules, and contract management under JCT or NEC frameworks
- Produce and present comprehensive building surveys, condition reports, and technical evaluations across diverse property types
