Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and autism? An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team in Surrey, based in Leatherhead!



About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Social Worker to provide specialist support and advocacy for adults with learning disabilities and autism. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of needs, strengths, and risks for individuals with learning disabilities and/or autism, ensuring a person-centred approach.
  • Developing and reviewing personalised care and support plans that promote independence, well-being, and community inclusion.
  • Working collaboratively with individuals, their families, carers, and a range of multi-agency partners (e.g., health professionals, housing, education, employment services).
  • Safeguarding vulnerable adults and responding effectively to safeguarding concerns, ensuring robust risk management.
  • Navigating complex transitions (e.g., from children services, into adulthood, or changes in living arrangements).
  • Providing expert advice and guidance on relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and Mental Capacity Act 2005.
  • Advocating for the rights and choices of individuals with learning disabilities and autism, empowering them to live fulfilling lives.


About You:

You will be a Qualified Social Worker with:

  • Substantial experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges and complexities faced by this client group.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and best practice in adult social care, particularly concerning learning disabilities and autism.
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals.
  • A proactive, empathetic, and resilience approach to your work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.

Rate: 38.00 per hour
