Most job adverts for Assistant Management Accountant roles sound like they were written by someone who's never met an accountant, let alone worked as one.
You'll be joining a business in East Leeds that's growing steadily and sustainably. They're not chasing unicorn status or shouting about being the next big disruptor. They just do good business, look after their people, and want an Assistant Management Accountant who can help them keep things moving in the right direction as they scale.
You'll be getting stuck into the kind of work that actually builds your experience; month-end, management accounts, analysis, commentary, and working with budget holders who don't always understand why you can't just "magic up" budget from nowhere.
This isn't one of those roles where you'll be stuck doing the same journal entries for the next three years.
What's on offer:
- Up to £35,000 salary (depending on experience)
- 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays (not including bank holidays is weird, right?)
- Study support, they'll invest in you while you invest in your career
- Free parking, and no city-centre stress
- A growing business with plenty of opportunities to get involved and make a difference
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the production of monthly management accounts
- Handling all the usual suspects: journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations
- Analysing variances and providing insight that's actually useful
- Working with non-finance stakeholders and helping them understand the numbers
- Contributing to budgets, forecasts, and continuous process improvements
- Basically, being a solid Assistant Management Accountant who knows what's what
What they're looking for:
- Ideally part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or AAT qualified and studying
- Experience in a similar finance or accounts role
- Someone who knows how to manage their own time, ask good questions, and get stuff done
- Comfortable working in a growing business where no two days are the same
- The ability to balance accuracy with pace (perfectionists who never hit deadlines need not apply)
