HW Finance are are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant to join a growing business based in West Yorkshire.


This role sits within a diverse and growing group providing essential services across the UK and Ireland. With a strong focus on operational efficiency, sustainability, and continuous improvement, the group supports a wide range of commercial and public sector clients.


The businesses finance team plays a key role in driving informed decision-making and supporting business growth through accurate, timely reporting and robust financial control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately account for fixed assets and leases across all UK Processing businesses on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT return and ensure VAT accounting is up to date.
  • Manage central cost control and recharges, working closely with People, IT, HR, and Marketing teams to allocate costs and complete monthly recharges and reconciliations.
  • Compile and complete balance sheet reconciliations (Fixed Assets, Leases, VAT, and Central Costs) with robust controls and review processes.
  • Support the Finance Director (FD) with cash forecasting, payment approvals, and the oversight of bank accounts.
  • Oversee the Finance Assistant responsible for bank reconciliations.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve finance-related queries, collaborating across the wider finance function.
  • Present monthly financial results to the FC and FD.
  • Support with the annual budget process and external audit preparations.
  • Assist with the implementation and embedding of a new ERP system.


Skills and Experience:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex spreadsheets.
  • Experience using SAGE accounting systems preferred but not essential.
  • Proven experience in maintaining strong financial controls.
  • A proactive problem solver with an analytical mindset.
  • A collaborative team player who works well across departments.
  • A clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
