CNC Programmer – Bespoke Luxury Furniture

Our client designs and manufactures bespoke, high-end furniture that merges artistic vision with technical precision. Every piece is custom-built using the finest materials and advanced processes, reflecting our commitment to excellence and craftsmanship. We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Operator to join their team and support production on our Biesse flatbed nesting CNC machine.

Job Overview:

As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating our Biesse nesting machine to manufacture precision components for custom luxury furniture. You’ll work closely with our design and workshop teams, using SolidWorks CAD software to translate unique concepts into high-quality, manufacturable parts. The role also includes performing general maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate a Biesse flatbed nesting CNC machine for cutting custom furniture components.
  • Generate efficient CNC toolpaths using CAM software based on SolidWorks models and technical drawings.
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, and workshop teams to ensure accurate interpretation of bespoke designs.
  • Set up machine tooling, run test programs, and make on-the-fly adjustments to maintain high-quality output.
  • Optimize nesting layouts for material efficiency and minimal waste.
  • Perform general maintenance on the CNC machine, including routine cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and basic repairs.
  • Work with various materials including hardwoods, veneers, MDF, and melamine
  • Maintain accurate documentation for CNC programs, setup sheets, and tooling information.
  • Troubleshoot programming and machining issues quickly and effectively.
  • Support continuous improvements in production processes, machine efficiency, and product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC machines, specifically Biesse flatbed nesting machines.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD and CAM software
  • Strong understanding of G-code and CNC operations in a joinery or furniture-making environment.
  • Familiarity with routine CNC machine maintenance and best practices for minimizing downtime.
  • Attention to detail with a passion for producing high-quality, luxury-grade work.
  • Ability to interpret complex 2D and 3D drawings and translate them into accurate machining instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on bespoke or one-off furniture pieces.
  • Familiarity with custom joinery, curved components, and inlays.
  • Knowledge of parametric design tools and advanced CNC strategies.
  • Background in traditional woodworking or furniture design.
