A well-established and fast-growing UK food manufacturer, specialising in high-quality meat products, is looking for an experienced and driven Raw Materials Planner to join their planning team based in South Kirkby. This business supplies major retailers, the food service industry, and meal kit providers, and has been a key player in the food production sector for over two decades.

General Duties of being a Planner:

  • Manage the raw materials planning function, focusing on the timely ordering and delivery of proteins (fresh and frozen).

  • Process volume adjustments as required to meet changing production needs.

  • Communicate effectively regarding any issues affecting supply, including shortages or intake discrepancies.

  • Coordinate production-related processes including pressure dicing and storage logistics.

  • Monitor daily shelf-life reports to minimise waste and maintain product quality.

  • Confirm purchase orders with suppliers and manage frozen stock logistics to local storage facilities.

  • Liaise directly with customers and internal teams to understand demand and supply requirements.

  • Support team operations during peak periods and provide holiday cover when needed.

General Requirements of being a Planner:

  • At least 1 year of experience in raw materials planning, preferably within food production or manufacturing.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Proactive and organised, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively under pressure.

  • Confident IT user with experience handling planning or stock management systems.

  • A flexible and supportive team player with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Willingness to undertake other responsibilities as directed by the management team.
