About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of History to join a thriving Humanities department at a forward-thinking secondary school in Leeds. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September 2025, and offers the chance to become part of a school that places staff wellbeing and development at the heart of its ethos. Position Details
- Location: Leeds
- Contract: Permanent, full-time
- Start Date: September 2025
- Salary: £31,650 - £49,084 per annum
Essential Requirements
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for History
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

- Innovative and engaging lesson planning
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality History lessons to KS3 and KS4 learners
- Use varied teaching methods to inspire, challenge and support all students
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations in History
- Assess student progress regularly and provide effective feedback
- Contribute to the development of the History curriculum and wider Humanities provision
- Promote historical thinking and cultural awareness across the school
- Maintain accurate records of pupil achievement and behaviour
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events and CPD opportunities
