You're good with numbers. You can spot a discrepancy faster than most people can find their house keys. You like your spreadsheets balanced, your payments processed properly, and your client money where it should be, but not floating in the ether.
This role? It's for someone who's got experience doing bank recs, cashbook entries, and insurer account settlements. But more importantly, it's for someone who gets why regulations aren't just some boring footnote.
The job involves a lot of digging into data, resolving queries, and holding people (politely) to account when things don't add up. If you enjoy sorting financial chaos into order, you'll do well.
The stuff you'll actually be doing:
- Reconciling bank statements against policy admin systems
- Sorting out unmatched cash and not letting it sit there for weeks on end
- Making sure client money is handled correctly and compliantly
- Chasing down queries from brokers, insurers, and the occasional colleague who forgot to click "save"
- Settling accounts with insurers within agreed terms
- Raising and resolving discrepancies in commission and payments
You'll be great at this if:
- You've worked in an insurance broking, finance, or reconciliations team before
- You're comfortable in Excel and not terrified of systems
- You enjoy untangling messes
- You can hold your own when chasing people for answers
- Accuracy matters to you
What's in it for you?
- A salary of £26-28k depending on experience
- A team that knows what they're doing
- The chance to build your skills in a company that's growing but hasn't lost its head
- 35 hour working week
- Flexible working after probationary period
