Are you an organised, motivated professional with a passion for delivering exceptional support? Thompsons Solicitors is looking for a Support Assistant to join our dynamic team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our branch.

In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for producing a range of standardised legal documents, letters, emails, reports, and court forms—ensuring accuracy in spelling, grammar, and legal terminology. You’ll manage diaries, arrange meetings and travel, liaise with clients and third parties, and handle incoming and outgoing communications. You’ll also maintain case files, assist with billing and costs monitoring, and support the team with a variety of administrative routines to keep the unit running smoothly.

We’re looking for someone who is self-sufficient, proactive, and accurate under pressure. You’ll have experience in a legal environment, be confident producing letters and legal forms, and be comfortable extracting key information from case files. Strong communication and client care skills are essential, especially when working with vulnerable clients. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and full training will be provided on our internal systems. We are especially interested in hearing from people with a legal secretary background.

At Thompsons, we’re committed to your development. You’ll benefit from structured supervision, coaching, and training, all within a nurturing workplace where your career can thrive. We offer a generous benefits package including a contributory pension scheme, additional leave over Christmas, permanent health insurance, a healthcare cash plan, life assurance, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, and financial support for professional development. You’ll also enjoy perks like a cycle to work scheme, subsidised sports and social club, and annual travel and parking loans.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced lawyers and support staff on a diverse and prestigious caseload.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your legal support career, we’d love to hear from you.
