A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paralegal to join my clients highly regarded firm in their Leeds offices.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will ideally have at least 1-2 years experience working in a similar role. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail who is organised and methodical with a can-do attitude, along with the ability to work quickly and efficiently to ensure deadlines are met. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client’s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
• Drafting of corporate documentation such as share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements and ancillary documents.
• Undertaking disclosure exercises with clients.
• Data room management and review of due diligence on mergers and acquisitions
work.
• Drafting and review of commercial contracts such as terms of business, franchise agreements and manufacturing agreements.
• Supporting the partners on more complex and valuable transactions.
• Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly.
• Developing client relationships and identifying cross referral opportunities.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources.
• Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
• Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
• Maintaining legal knowledge and skills.
• Providing administrative support to other fee earners, solicitors and partners.
• Liaising with the Accounts department to produce cheques, pay disbursements etc.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.
• Contribute to maintaining and improving office procedures.
• Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.

The Candidate:

• Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal problems in a concise and customer-friendly way.
• Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of each team.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to deal with enquiries in a customer-friendly and effective manner.
• Experience of commercial contract drafting.
• Experience of transactional legal matters such as asset purchase agreements and/or share purchase agreements.
• Ability to work accurately in accordance with the requirements of each team.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• 1–2 years of paralegal experience in corporate law. However, experience in commercial property or employment law will also be considered.
