Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Depot Engineer to join our Major Repairs Team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining and refurbishing a range of depot equipment to the highest standards. The successful candidate will bring technical expertise, a methodical approach to repairs, and a strong sense of responsibility within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Repairs & Maintenance
- Diagnose faults and undertake major in-house repairs on various types of equipment.
- Conduct planned and preventative maintenance to ensure all equipment remains operational.
- Manage and maintain accurate stock levels of spare parts and materials.
- Log all parts used via the mobile tablet system for accurate record-keeping.
- Job Processing & Reporting
- Accurately process and update job details and repair statuses using the works mobile tablet.
- Support Across Sites
- Provide flexible support to other depots or operational areas when required.
- Workplace Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment always.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Assist with additional tasks or projects as directed by the Foreman or Depot Manager.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar equipment repair and maintenance role.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and management.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and solution-focused approach to tasks.
- Experience using mobile tablet systems for job tracking and reporting.
- Background in a similar industry or experience with specialist equipment.
