Teacher of Music - North Leeds

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Teacher of Music to join a forward-thinking and supportive Performing Arts department at a thriving 11-18 secondary school in North Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to inspire students across all key stages, nurturing both technical skill and artistic expression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 teaching available for the right candidate)
  • Plan and assess lessons that engage and stretch all learners
  • Contribute to the wider life of the department, including extracurricular clubs, concerts and events
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s commitment to the arts
  • Support the academic progress and wellbeing of students in line with school policies

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Music or a closely related subject
  • Passion for music education and the ability to inspire young people
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach confidently across a range of musical styles and contexts
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A team player who contributes positively to departmental and whole-school initiatives
