Salary: Up to £36,000 – DOE + Benefits

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join their team in Leeds. You'll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, maintaining records, resolving queries, and supporting compliance with UK payroll legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple clients, covering salaried and hourly staff (including overtime, bonuses, and adjustments)
  • Maintain accurate employee records: starters, leavers, salary changes, benefits, and deductions
  • Support on payroll queries from employees, managers, and external partners
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies—tax codes, NI contributions, pension deductions—quickly and professionally
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless data flow across systems
  • Assist with RTI submissions, year-end P60s/P45s, and ad-hoc statutory reporting
  • Identify process improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency

What You'll Bring

  • Payroll administration experience
  • Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NIC, RTI, NMW)
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain complex payroll information clearly
  • Proficiency with payroll software (OneAdvanced would be preferable, but not essential)
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach and ability to manage multiple priorities
