This role sits between Payroll Administrator and Payroll Manager—perfect for someone looking to grow their expertise while making a tangible impact.

The Role

As Payroll Officer, you’ll be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payrolls across both weekly and monthly cycles. You'll work closely with internal teams, external agencies, and government bodies, ensuring payroll compliance and record-keeping excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time

  • Maintain employee records and process starters/leavers

  • Handle payroll deductions, tax code updates, and RTI submissions

  • Administer pensions, SMP, SPP, AOE, DWP, and CSA payments

  • Prepare payroll journals and financial reports

  • Manage payroll queries and support ongoing wage corrections

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing

  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance

  • Skilled with payroll software (e.g., Sage, TMS) and MS Office

  • High attention to detail and confidentiality

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
