Confectionery Buyer – Retail Business (Hybrid – Leeds)£50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits | Hybrid Working Available

Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a well-established and fast-growing retail business in Leeds to recruit a Confectionery Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and commercially driven individual to join a dynamic team in a hybrid working environment.

About the Role:As the Confectionery Buyer, you’ll take ownership of a high-performing category with a broad portfolio of both branded and own-branded products. Working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and commercial teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping the confectionery offering across retail and wholesale channels, ensuring it is competitive, profitable, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the confectionery category strategy for both branded and own-label products

  • Negotiate pricing, promotional plans, and supply terms with key suppliers and manufacturers

  • Analyse market trends and customer insights to identify opportunities for range development and innovation

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, supply chain, and merchandising teams to ensure effective execution

  • Monitor category performance against targets and make data-driven decisions to optimise sales and margin

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends and competitor activity to maintain a leading market position

Person Specification:We’re looking for someone with:? Proven buying experience within the confectionery sector, ideally across own-brand and branded products? A strong background in retail and/or wholesale buying environments? Commercial acumen and confident negotiation skills? Excellent supplier relationship management experience? A data-driven mindset and the ability to translate insights into actionable plans? Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
