A Finance Assistant is more than just helping keep the numbers straight and the business running smoothly.
This isn't just an admin job where you shuffle spreadsheets and wait for the day to end. This is a chance to play a crucial role in a growing business, where your accuracy, initiative, and ability to keep calm under pressure will make a real difference.
They're looking for a Finance Assistant who knows the value of getting the details right, isn't fazed by a fast pace, and understands that behind every payment, refund, and invoice is a customer or supplier who expects things to be done properly.
Here's what the job actually involves:
- Processing invoices and credit card statements
- Communicating clearly and professionally with suppliers and customers
- Reconciling statements and balances
- Handling payments, receipts, remittances, and refunds
- Activating customer finance applications (no selling, just getting it done right)
- Owning shared finance inboxes and ensuring people aren't waiting days for a reply
- Jumping in to support colleagues when workloads spike
- Getting involved in finance projects and one-off tasks when needed
What we're looking for:
- A solid grip of Excel - if you don't know your way around a pivot table, this isn't for you
- Experience using mainstream accounting software
- A calm, methodical approach and the ability to handle time-sensitive queries
- A genuine desire to resolve issues - and not just pass them along the chain
What do you get?
- An annual salary of up to £29k + the opportunity for study support
- The opportunity to work for a rapidly growing business
- 30 days annual leave + bank holidays
