Robert Half is recruiting for a proactive and commercially minded Management Accountant to join a growing finance function based in Leicester, with hybrid working available. This permanent position offers the opportunity to take ownership of financial reporting across a diverse contract portfolio while providing strategic financial insight to senior stakeholders.

As a Management Accountant, you will oversee monthly management accounts, lead on budgeting and forecasting, and manage at least one Assistant Management Accountant. Your work will provide clear, actionable financial commentary, enabling informed decision-making and improved business performance. You will also be a key point of contact for financial matters within your portfolio, working closely with operational leaders to support performance and drive process improvements. This role offers a salary of £40,000 - £48,500.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts with insightful commentary on key drivers.
  • Manage and develop at least one Assistant Management Accountant.
  • Take responsibility for multiple contracts, including balance sheet reviews and actions to resolve outstanding items.
  • Ensure accurate completion of VAT returns.
  • Lead the year-end process and coordinate the production of audited financial statements.
  • Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with operational teams.
  • Oversee cash flow management and billing schedules for the contract portfolio.
  • Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives within financial processes.
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support business needs.

About You:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS)
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence decision-making at senior levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide practical solutions.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing finance team members.
  • Skilled communicator, capable of building strong relationships across finance and operational teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
