Senior Business Support Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Senior Business Support Officer to join a busy and dynamic Business Support Services team on a temporary basis.

This is a key role, providing leadership, oversight, and coordination to ensure that essential business support functions run smoothly and statutory deadlines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective line management and support to a team of Business Support staff, fostering motivation, professional growth, and strong team cohesion.

  • Oversee and organise team workloads, ensuring statutory and service deadlines are achieved.

  • Analyse and interpret data to support forward planning, decision-making, and continuous service improvement.

  • Allocate, delegate, and monitor tasks to ensure a balanced and efficient workload across the team.

  • Produce and present accurate reports and updates for senior managers.

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, motivation, and accountability, supporting staff to deliver excellent service.

  • Use Microsoft Excel and other digital tools to support data tracking, reporting, and service delivery.

Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven line management experience, with the ability to motivate, mentor, and develop staff.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with experience coordinating workloads under pressure.

  • Confident in the interpretation of data and able to translate it into meaningful actions and reports.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with experience presenting updates to senior management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and wider Microsoft Office applications.

  • Resilient, proactive, and solution-focused, with the ability to maintain standards under strict deadlines.
