The HBT Regulatory Team has fantastic opportunity for an Advanced Certification Engineer within our Global Regulatory Team. The preferred candidate will be highly motivated with demonstrated initiative, and have a fundamental understanding of product compliance methodologies within a regulated global environment

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the regulatory technical expert, ensuring compliance for new and existing fire projects while interpreting standards for engineering teams.
  • Guide the technical publication team on necessary document changes and oversee clarity in product approval strategies across design and documentation.
  • Prepare and coordinate testing plans, setup systems, and obtain approval results while conducting software and hardware testing for performance improvement.
  • Analyse project risks and deadlines to develop realistic schedules and address compliance concerns with cross-functional teams.
  • Direct a global team in testing methodologies to meet local requirements, maintaining product compliance with the latest regulatory standards.
  • Act as a liaison between regulatory agencies and Honeywell engineering, while identifying test failures and collaborating on corrective actions.

Key skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Solid experience with new product development, agency approvals or in an electrical/electronic testing laboratory
  • Full lifecycle project management experience and the ability to provide understanding of key technical terms
  • Strong problem-solving skills: prioritize, identify root causes & take corrective actions
  • Experience with relevant certification agencies: UL/ULC, ETL, CSA, TUV, BRE, CNPP AFNOR, VDS, etc.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
