Job Title: Junior Accounts Assistant (Purchase Ledger)

Reports To: Finance ManagerLocation: CoventrySalary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience)

Purpose of the Role

To provide efficient and accurate support across the purchase ledger and supplier administration processes, ensuring invoices, purchase orders and reconciliations are managed effectively in Sage 50.

Key Responsibilities
  • Raising and issuing purchase orders, ensuring compliance with internal processes

  • Inputting, coding, and checking purchase invoices in Sage 50

  • Matching invoices against POs and delivery notes

  • Completing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving discrepancies

  • Handling supplier administration, maintaining accurate records and filing

  • Resolving supplier queries promptly and professionally

  • Assisting with payment runs (weekly/monthly)

  • Supporting wider finance functions and month-end tasks as required

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • AAT studier or keen to start AAT

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Organised, methodical, and able to prioritise workload

  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • IT literate, with working knowledge of Excel

Desirable:

  • Previous purchase ledger or finance experience

  • Experience of using Sage 50

  • Knowledge of purchase order processes
