Gear Cutter Wanted – Join a Leading Precision Engineering Team

Location: Leicester
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £18 - £20 per hour + Overtime + Benefits

Are you a skilled Gear Cutter with a passion for precision and quality? We’re seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our established engineering firm, known for delivering high-spec components across automotive, aerospace, and industrial sectors.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate manual and/or CNC gear cutting machines (e.g., hobbing, shaping, or grinding)

  • Work from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Ensure gears meet stringent quality and tolerance standards

  • Perform setups, adjustments, and routine maintenance on gear cutting equipment

  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and customer requirements

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in gear cutting (minimum 2 years)

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and measurements

  • Familiarity with gear types: spur, helical, bevel, worm, etc.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality output

  • Knowledge of inspection tools and quality checks

Desirable (but not essential):

  • CNC programming skills

  • Experience in working with a range of materials (steel, brass, alloys)

  • Understanding of ISO quality standards
