Teaching Assistant (Behaviour Support) – Multiple Positions Available

We are seeking several Teaching Assistants with a strong focus on Behaviour Support to join our dedicated team. Our setting provides a safe, nurturing and highly supportive environment where pupils with a range of SEMH needs are encouraged to grow in confidence, independence and emotional regulation.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with teachers, support staff and senior leaders to provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH needs.

  • Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.

  • Contribute to individual behaviour plans, implementing consistent strategies and interventions.

  • Support pupils in managing their emotions, developing resilience and improving engagement in lessons.

  • Encourage positive behaviour through de-escalation, restorative approaches and proactive support.

  • Assist with academic learning, adapting tasks to meet individual needs.

  • Create a calm, structured and supportive environment across the school day.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants with experience in:

  • Supporting children with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs

  • Working in schools, specialist provisions, youth work or similar settings

  • De-escalation strategies, trauma-informed practice or therapeutic approaches

  • Building meaningful relationships with pupils who may have experienced difficulty in previous educational placements
