Your new companyAn extremely well-known materials and construction company, they offer a wide range of products and services that support infrastructure and building projects across the country.Some of their most notable projects are quarries that supply essential raw materials, including aggregates and asphalt.Your new roleYou will support the business in managing and obtaining environmental permits (including licence applications) for land, air and water. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid role split between working from home and their north Leicestershire location.Main duties include:

  • Provide technical advice on permits and licenses required for successful business operation in the minerals sector
  • Manage a wide range of environmental permits and license applications
  • Highlight changes to legislation and communicate how they will impact current permits
  • Provide expert advice to the business, explain technical issues relating to permit conditions
  • Communicate effectively with regulators
  • Work with a variety of internal and external teams
  • Attend meetings across the Midlands on occasion

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in environmental science or related field
  • Experience managing complex permits and license applications (ideally in the Minerals, waste or water sectors)
  • Experience liaising with regulatory bodies
  • Knowledge of relevant UK environmental legislation
