Senior Town Planner - Leicester
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading multidisciplinary design and planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their Leicester office. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in shaping projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and regeneration schemes.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will manage and deliver a variety of planning projects from inception to determination, working closely with clients, local planning authorities, and external stakeholders. You'll also support the growth of the planning team and mentor junior colleagues, helping to strengthen the consultancy's reputation and portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications and appeals.
Undertaking site appraisals and providing planning advice to clients.
Preparing planning statements, policy representations, and environmental assessments.
Building and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development.
Representing the company at planning committees, hearings, and public consultations.
About You
We are looking for an ambitious planning professional with:
MRTPI Chartered status (or actively working towards it).
3-5 years' post-qualification experience within planning consultancy, development, or local authority.
Strong project management and organisational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Commercial awareness and the ability to provide high-quality, pragmatic planning advice.
