Despatch Supervisor - Manufacturing environment
£30,000-£34,000 per annum
Mon-Fri 08:30-17:00
Leicester (Near Fosse Park)
Reporting to the Production Manager, the role of despatch supervisor will be responsible for the safe and efficient distribution of metal products to the end customer.
The Despatch team is small but mighty, consisting of 2 warehouse operatives and 1-2 drivers. You will organise the department and lead from the front.
This is a role where you will wear many hats, therefore duties will include but will not be limited to:
Management and Administration tasks:
- Running the despatch operation will full autonomy
- Overseeing department H&S
- Assessing and improving current processes
- Working in partnership with the Sales and Production teams
- Working with HR to conduct RTW interviews, Investigations, head count increases etc.
Warehouse/Despatch - Supervising but also working hands on:
- Transporting of products between building using the Counterbalance
- Printing labels and Packing customer orders
- Quality checking orders before despatch
- Loading and unloading deliveries using FLT
Transport Management
- Conducting weekly vehicle checks
- Booking and prioritising deliveries
- Ensure that drivers are sticking to/not exceeding working hours
- Defect reporting
- Checking POD's
- Utilising the company's fleet before outsourcing to carriers
To be considered you will have worked in a similar leadership role within the Manufacturing OR Engineering industry. This is not a spotless environment; you must be prepared to get your hands dirty and not be afraid to implement changes.
