Payroll Specialist

We're working with a leading UK-based business that's well established in its industry and currently undergoing exciting transformation. As part of their continued focus on delivering exceptional internal services, they're now looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join their friendly and experienced payroll team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys problem-solving, and wants the flexibility of part-time hours with a hybrid working arrangement.

The Role:

You'll be part of a small payroll team handling the processing of pay for a large UK workforce. You'll help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, while also supporting queries and changes to payroll data.

  • Running end-to-end payroll processes for a high-volume UK payroll
  • Handling new starters, leavers, tax code changes, and salary adjustments
  • Managing statutory payments, deductions, and reporting
  • Uploading and processing BACS payments to employees and HMRC
  • Supporting employees with payroll queries via email and phone
  • Staying current on payroll legislation and applying updates accordingly
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end payroll tasks

The ideal candidate:

  • Previous experience in a payroll role - ideally covering full payroll cycle
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation
  • A methodical approach with high attention to detail
  • Friendly, professional communication style - especially when supporting colleagues
  • A CIPP qualification but would be an advantage but not essential
